Oliver’s first landscape paintings were made at the end of 2021, and this has now become the main focus of his work. Drawing on his time as an Oyster farmer and Mussel fisherman in Cornwall and his love of natural world, he aims to create a feeling of immersion and communion with the landscape in his work.

Water is almost always at the heart of his painting. The challenge of depicting the light upon it and the mystery of what lies beneath, the fascination of an angler is a strong driver to that which he is drawn to work from.
